This doesn't mean you shouldn't ever treat yourself with a meal out but if you do this often you'll make it harder for yourself to lose weight. There are just too many temptations when you go out to eat and too many restaurants have enlarged portions for it to be healthy for the diet you're trying to make successful. Finding your own weight loss buddy is perhaps the best way to make sure that you will be successful with any diet that you choose.

It's a lot easier to stay motivated with your diet and exercise program when you've got someone to talk with about it. You don't have to have the other person tagging after you all day long. You could even just be online friends with your buddy. You could also have it be your very best friend, the person you are married to or someone you work with. The point is that it needs to be a team effort. If you run into problems or are having motivational issues, you can call or email the other. When you live close to each other you can even do a bike tour workout together. Having a person to help you through the times that are hard can make a huge difference when you want to make sure that the weight you lose stays off.

A diet can be a really good tool for losing weight but it cannot do all of the work for you. You need to remember that is your choices and daily habits that determine how healthy you are and how much weight you lose. There is no such thing as perfection so you shouldn't expect this from yourself. It is important to recognize that when you want the results of your diet to last, you need to make an honest and true commitment to the rules of your diet and take them seriously.
