You have perhaps given up after years of testing every possible fat loss method ever advertised, feeling shortchanged after spending lots of money on these schemes and ending up with the same love handles and fat arms you had when you started out. And this is the reality that everyone needs to face: when it comes to weight loss, there is no hard and fast rule, and definitely nothing instant and long-term at the same time.

There's, however, one more direction to tread for you to finally make important strides to your ideal body weight. This technique requires discipline, not just the kind which requires you to sacrifice this and that for a couple of months, but something you will need to live with for the rest of your life. In the first place, a diet programme that allows you to for a month doesn't really give you a to-die-for body in your whole lifetime, right?

Your body has a coping mechanism which is varied from everyone else's, which is the exact reason Person A gains or loses weight slower or faster than you do. In this case, you will need a tailor-made slimming programme that takes into account your Body Mass Index, lifestyle, health woes, and exactly how much weight is healthy for you to lose or gain. For that, you would need a personal trainer instead of a mass-produced, commercially distributed diet scheme.

These are just some of the things your personal trainer could do for you: assess your health and craft a fitness plan you could regularly do without harm to your body; seek your feedback on the day's session, whether you find it too complicated or not (something a diet book cannot help you with). You can also easily ask for useful exercise and fitness tips, particularly the tried-and-tested kind which you don't often read about in self-proclaimed self-help fitness books.

And not like a mass-distributed fixed fitness formula you could not do anything about, your personal trainer can adjust your regimen as you go along, based on how well you are adjusting. Your trainer could motivate you, encourage you to try harder in spite of your difficulty, and instill discipline in you when your conviction is wavering. That is something no commercial off-the-shelf fitness strategy can provide.
